Dependence on Partnerships

As I anticipated, the feedback from last weeks’ posting and blog on my website www.suncoasttech.net titled Value vs. Price: The PCB World Market, drew much attention from many sectors of the electronics’ industry. I was not surprised by the abundance of emails and comments I received from not just OEM’s and CM’s but from competitors that paralleled my sentiments. Quality over price alone should be the driving force behind our industry. BUT as I have discussed previously, competition drives the market where at times pricing will dictate product flows.  Just as its importance to maintain a valued PCB supplier base, having true preferred partnerships with multiple sources will only ensure a competitive and quality environment. Dependence on a single source of supply, when your reliance with that supplier comes into question, can severely hinder your production(s) schedules and revenue streams causing adverse consequences with your customers. Having a well-rounded supplier base is strategically smart and carries an abundance of weight when courting additional customers into your company.

In many years past, having a single source of supply was more prevalent simply because the product flow in the early 90’s was more definitized then in today’s marketplace. Today we have much more like-product that is required to have multiple sources manufacturing these constantly ever changing and growing platforms.

Because of our abundance of years delving into all aspects of the PCB marketplace here at SunCoast Technologies Inc., will always be here to support your PCB requirements. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us. Our website is always ready for your review. We are excited about the future and are ready for what it may bring to us and the PCB industry.
